2019 Bertani Vintage Edition 'Cav Giov. Batt. Bertani' Soave

This is such a versatile and delicious white wine. It’s lip-smacking good and Bertani is one of the leaders in the region.

Soave is a wine appellation located right between Venice and Verona in northeastern Italy with vineyards that sit among lovely, green rolling hills (yeah, just like we've seen in Hollywood movies!) This famed wine area is no longer home to the bulk wines it was producing back in the 80s, today, Soave is a region creating vibrant wines, from easy-drinking (and stellar-priced) white wines to more complex ones.

Decanter magazine said it best, “This region is still the perennial summertime thirst-quencher, but thanks to its rich and varied terroirs the wines of this well-known Veneto region offer impressive diversity and complexity.”

Bertani’s impact on Veneto wine making, particularly in Amarone production, is so considerable that ‘Bertani’ and ‘Amarone’ are nearly synonymous. Their 150+ year history is dotted with groundbreaking initiatives and royal accreditation. While respectful of their past, Bertani strives towards innovation, using progressive techniques and equipment allied with extensive experience and a deeply felt respect for tradition to provide wines of uncompromising quality.

Aging: The wine is aged in concrete vats for 9 months on lees, a portion is aged on skin, followed by 6 months bottle maturation.

 100% Garganega. Aromas of elderflower, cherry blossom, and fresh mint leaves. In the mouth there are flavors of peach, pear and apricot, with a plush and caressing palate and good length.  This will pair beautifully with white meats and flavorful fish dishes.
