About the Wine

Meadowcroft Wines are sustainably sourced award-winning wines that are vineyard specific and limited in production, expressing both European wine heritage and California creativity.

Meadowcroft is a passion project from a rockstar team of wine professionals. Tom Meadowcroft, has an extensive history of grape growing in both California and Washington state. At Tom's side is Petar Kirilov, who after growing up in a winemaking family in Bulgaria, moved to the United States to continue pursuing his passion for wine. The end product is exceptionally produced wine, that is delicious today and will only continue to improve with time.

Meadowcroft is the namesake of Winegrower Tom Meadowcroft. The meaning of Meadowcroft is a fertile field or meadow and croft refers to a cultivated area that has been nurtured over time. The honeybee on the label symbolizes this conscientious work and the process of transformation from wine grapes into outstanding wine.

Sourced from 50-year-old family-owned vineyards on the eastern slopes of Spring Mountain, this 2018 vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon has a refined elegance.

Tasting Note:100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Opening with an abundance of blackberry jam, candied violets, crushed earth, and currants, this youthful Cabernet suggests unquestionable aging potential but is delicious now. The mouthfeel is pure satin, laced with mocha and plum. Tannins are firm but exist mainly on the back palate, framed by subtle spice. This wine is a quintessential California mountain cabernet, reflecting the artistry and tradition of old-world winemaking.

Reviews

A gorgeous, layered nose of classic varietal blackberry and cassis aromas plus chocolate and faint dried herbs entices, and the palate delivers on that promise.  The generous texture carries the flavors on the midpalate, and supple tannins keep the flavor pumping through an extended finish.  A new player to me, and one worth watching.
