About the Winery

When one thinks about Sicily and wine, one must consider the impact of the breadth, scale and global success of Planeta. Operating six wineries throughout the island and an olive oil production, Planeta has created some of the finest expressions of regional wines since the ambitious project launched in 1995.

The collection of wineries include:

• Cantina dell’Ulmo in Menfi, producing Chardonnay, Maroccoli – Syrah, Alastro – Grecanico, Plumbago – Nero d’Avola, Sito dell’Ulmo – Merlot.
• Cantina Dispensa:  La Segreta bianco, La Segreta rosso, Rosé, Cometa, Burdese.
• Cantina Dorilli in Vittoria producing Frappato, DOCG Cerasuolo di Vittoria, DOCG Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico Dorilli.
• Cantina Buonivini in Noto producing Moscato di Noto, Passito di Noto, Santa Cecilia – Nero d’Avola.
• Cantina Feudo di Mezzo near Mt. Etna producing  Etna bianco, Etna rosso, Eruzione 1614 Carricante, Eruzione 1614 Nerello Mascalese, Brut – Metodo Classico.
• La Baronia in Capo Milazzo producing Nero d’Avola – Nocera.

Tasting Notes: Rosé wine. Fresh and fruity, this wine expresses all the emotions of a Sicilian summer. Its color is that of a summer sunset. The fresh aromas of strawberry make it a marvelously friendly wine, and easy to drink. Lively and fresh in the mouth, the wine has reflections of meringue, and recollects the taste of white peaches.

Enjoy Planeta’s Rosé in good company, as an aperitif with tapas, raw fish, fresh salads or alone with seasonal fruit.

Blend: 50% Nero d'Avola, 50% Syrah
