There are 3 things that are not negotiable when I’m looking for a daily wine: Good quality, fair price, and fine taste. I often struggle more when looking for a worthy daily wine than when I look for a high-end wine.
If you have experienced the same problem, I’ve got the solution! This year, Santa arrived early and brought this amazing wine offer with him: 2019 Tabali Cabernet Sauvignon Pedregoso.
This wine perfectly accomplishes the 3 terms listed above, and it also has an impressive story behind it, let’s dig in:
This estate is a small-scale, exclusive, family winery focused on detail. Tabalí has an enormous commitment to quality over quantity.
Felipe Müller, Tabali’s winemaker, is considered one of the country’s most influential and important winemakers. He was named ‘Best Winemaker of the Year’ in the sixteenth version of “Guía de Vinos de Chile 2010”, Chile’s oldest and most prestigious wine industry publication. According to Felipe Müller, “Tabalí, though relatively young, has enormous potential, as shown by its outstanding wines”.
The Pedregoso Cabernet Sauvignon is a single vineyard wine that is grown at high elevations overlooking the Maipo Valley. The vineyard is south facing, which in Chile, provides for a cooler growing climate. Slow ripening in a cooler growing area helps provide this wine with an exceptional balance that can easily be enjoyed today!
Tasting Notes: This Cabernet Sauvignon is notable for its good body and structure. It has upfront aromas of cherries, violets, cassis, and smoke, complemented by hints of toast. Well-rounded on the palate, with balanced, silky tannins and great structure, it achieves a good balance between fresh acidity and abundant fruit.
