Southern France Unicorn In Near-Perfect Vintage: 2017 Château d’Aussières Corbières
Let's take a journey to Southern France. Imagine exploring this blooming oasis with its sun-drenched rolling hills, charming architecture, and near-perfect weather... this imagery consumed my mind when I tasted the 2017 Château d’Aussières.
This 95 point wonder is filled with notes of blackcurrants, ripe plums, fresh olive, black loose leaf tea, cracked black pepper, tobacco leaf, and cured leather. This wine led my taste buds on a euphoric ride through the winding hillsides of Southern France. The quality was apparent in the first sip and carried on for minutes! With only 4 cases allocated, I hope to take you on the same everlasting expedition before we sell out.
2017 Château d’Aussières Corbières is the top-notch wine of Aussières, the crème de la crème.
Southern France is frequently glossed over as a high-quality red wine-producing region. Known for their world-class rosé production, a handful of producers are beginning to change the image of this overlooked sanctuary. Domaines like Gerard Bertrand, Château de la Négly, Chateau Puech-Haut, and Château d’Aussières are producing stunning red wines year after year that will continue to change the perception of this remarkable territory.
