2016 Siro Pacenti Brunello di Montalcino Vecchie Vigne

Every so often we are blessed with the perfect intersection of vintage and producer that makes us drool. The 2016 vintage in Tuscany provided us the first part of this puzzle and Siro Pacenti has brought the goods. We get tiny allocations of these wines each year and this is the year that you are going to want to grab all that you can.

The Siro Pacenti Estate has been producing wine for over 50 years now and they are showing no signs of letting up on the quality of the product that they put out to the world. I am lucky enough to have the opportunity today to showcase two beautiful wines from this estate, the Vecchie Vigne (old vines), and the Pelagrilli single vineyard Brunello.

Both of these wines regularly receive high praise from top critics, but in a vintage like 2016, they quickly approach perfect scores. Both wines are of very high quality, the differences are in where the grapes are coming from. The Pelagrilli is sourced entirely from the estate vineyard of the same name, whereas the Vecchie Vigne is sourced from the estate's oldest vines across multiple vineyards. Both of these wines are showstoppers and not ones you will want to miss.

If you are looking for Tuscan wine to stock your cellar with or just an exceptional bottle to open up with your favorite meal or favorite people, either of these bottles will rise to the occasion with ease.
