2025 Mazzei Tenuta Belguardo Vermentino Bianco Toscana IGT

The emerging Belguardo estate is located on the hills between Grosseto and Montiano, about six miles inland from Italy’s west coast. The Mediterranean climate produces impeccable and delicious fruit producing sophisticated age worthy wines.

The Mazzei family, owners of Chianti Classico's highly esteemed Castello di Fonterutoli, took the helm at the Belguardo estate in the 1990s after recognizing the area’s potential for quality winemaking. Since then, the Mazzei family has established Belguardo among the top producers in this exciting, fast-emerging wine region. 

Vermentino is the grape that belongs there. It loves the sea, and the marine breezes and sandstone soils give it a saline, mineral edge you can taste. This is 100% Vermentino, fermented in stainless steel to keep it clean and bright, no oak getting in the way. James Suckling scored the 2025 at 91 points. He called it vibrant and aromatic, with bright acidity and a refreshing finish.

This is not a wine to lay down. It's a wine to drink young and cold, when the fruit is singing. A summer white with a serious pedigree behind it, from one of the oldest names in Italian wine.
