About the Wine

“Opening a great bottle of wine is the beginning of a wonderful moment. An exciting conversation, a story being told, hearty, belly laughs, and philosophies shared. An intimate dinner, sharing secrets and memories, making promises and plans, re-living moments of nostalgia. ~Guillaume and Kelly Gonnet.

Owner Guillaume Gonnet comes from a renowned family of vignerons in the Rhône Valley. He is a visionary and hungry winemaker, who decided to explore some of the world's most important terroirs like Bordeaux, Burgundy, Napa, New Zealand, and Australia before he took over the family’s vineyard in Châteauneuf du Pape. During his travels, he did not only gain winemaking expertise but also brought the best experience of all, meeting his business partner and future wife, Kelly.

Guillaume Gonnet Winery was created by this couple of connoisseurs. Their main goal is to “Explore the potential of Southern Rhône grape varieties in various terroirs in the South of France and around the world”.

They produce their wines with grapes comming from some of the most sought-after regions of the southern Rhône like Côtes du Rhône, Lirac, Cairanne, Tavel and Châteauneuf du Pape. This couple is completely passionate about the terroir, and that passion is reflected in their work philosophy, producing wines with minimal intervention, biodynamic agriculture, and with very little influence of wood, resulting in expressive and vibrant wines.

If you love rosés, Tavel is a region you don’t want to miss. Thanks to its beautiful Mediterranean climate, combined with the stony and sandy soils and its privileged location, Tavel produces world-renowned top-tier wines. In fact, it is known that the wines from this region, were favorites to king Louis XIV, the popes of Avignon, and writers Honoré de Balzac and Ernest Hemingway.

Tasting Notes:  70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Cinsault. This is a round, textured rose, a gorgeous, vibrant, dark, pink color. Loads of fruit on the nose and palate, aromas of strawberry, cherries, watermelon, peach, and nectarine. Nice dry, refreshing finish. This wine is not only pretty but tastes delightful. Pair this rosé with pasta, salads, goat cheese, and desserts.
