Brace yourself for a unique tasting adventure with this Napa Valley gem, where its exceptional value and exclusivity will pique your curiosity.
This mysterious wine comes from Beau Vigne, an estate that flies under the radar as a “hidden gem” and a small boutique winery producing only a few thousand cases a year. Fans and critics alike flock to the winery for its outstanding wines and genuine hospitality including famed critic Robert Parker who refers to Beau Vigne as “one of my favorite wineries.”
Behind this wine is renowned winemaker Julien Fayard. He uses his expertise to produce wines that express pure, terroir-driven specificities and characteristics. Julien gained his knowledge and defined his core winemaking style from working at grand Chateaux in France such as Lafite Rothschild and Smith Haut Lafitte.
Beau Vigne’s wines are highly esteemed and cherished among some of the world’s most important winemakers, and they have achieved numerous high-accolades. Today, they are considered among Napa Valley’s most acclaimed wines.
2019 was a fabulous year for Napa Valley Cabernet. Wine Spectator awarded this year a 97-point score, and Vinous Media gave it 96 points saying that "The 2019 Napa Valley Cabernets have turned out beautifully. 2019 is a very high-quality vintage of Cabernets that will be easy to drink and enjoy with minimal cellaring. The extra kick of late heat softened the tannins, making the wines a pleasure to taste and drink."
Aging: 21 months in 80% new French oak
Tasting Notes: Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine shows a rich nose with lifted hibiscus and black fruit notes. The entry on the palate reveals a generous dark fruit expression, with youthful black mulberry, savory wild herb, and a ferrous minerality. Exquisitely balanced and deliciously approachable now and will continue to evolve and improve through time.
Seamless. Black velvet-hued, polished red with aromas of mocha-espresso and dried violets. The fruit is from high-elevation vineyards, spending 21 months in 80% new French oak. With some Malbec and Petite Verdot blended in, this big, broad, teeth-gripper evolves into a glamorous mouthfeel, resplendent with dark red fruit. Devil’s Food cake, anise, and pencil shavings thread through a field of mountain brush and turned earth. ~97+ The Tasting Panel Magazine
