Established in 2003, Haras de Pirque is quickly establishing itself as one of the primer producers of the Maipo Valley. In 2017, Marchesi Antinori took over the estate with the goal of building "a great wine in the image of Antinori." The vineyards are surrounded by the estate’s thoroughbred racetrack and breeding farm and the state-of-the-art horseshoe-shaped winery. The Estate has been dedicated to organic practices since 2006 and finally received certification in 2016. Under Antinori's guidance, Haras de Pirque, with continue to climb the ranks of primer South American wine.
Located 1,800 to 2,100 feet above sea level Haras de Pirque, sits in one of the most prestigious and historical areas of the Maipo Valley. It resides at the foothills of the cordillera de Los Andes, in a privileged zone for planting vineyards. The climate is Mediterranean, highly influenced by the proximity of the mountain range and the Pacific Ocean anticyclone that rises through the open valley. The great temperature swings favor a slow ripening and, as a consequence, excellent quality of the grapes. The vines were planted in 1992 and the parcels are continuously selected for the special flavors and ripeness of the fruit.
