Verona is the fabled romantic town that inspired Shakespear to write Romeo and Juliet. Less than one hour north lies the Valpolicella and the land of Amarone. Known since the Roman times to be a set of valley uniquely situated to produce outstanding wine. Corvina is one of the local varieties here, and it is most commonly used to bulk up the Amarone. The process to dry grapes is time consuming and costly.
For this wine, Cantina di Ora used 100% Corvina to dry the grapes first on the vine and then further air dried in the cellar.
The result is luscious beauty, dark and redolent of frutti di bosco, luxardo cherry, and a blueberry explosion. 50% of the wine is aged in French barrique for 6-8 months, the other part remains in steel. The wine is full-bodied in mouth with a complex bouquet of mature red berries and delicate hints of vanilla.
It's a winemaker’s dream to deliver such pleasure.
