Barolo is "THE KING OF WINES and the WINE OF KINGS!" And this 2018 Damilano Barolo Cannubi isn’t just a wine; it’s an experience. It’s history, artistry, and passion, bottled straight from one of the most prized vineyards in the world—Cannubi. Nestled in Italy’s enchanting Langhe Hills, this wine is the perfect union of tradition and innovation, crafted by a winery with over 130 years of excellence.

Cannubi isn’t just any vineyard. It’s the Grand Cru of Barolo, where magic happens. The soil here is like no other—a unique blend of clay-rich marl with high sand content (up to 45%) that gifts the grapes with their extraordinary character. The result? A wine that’s elegant, powerful, and unforgettable.

Founded in the 1800s, Damilano Winery is one of the oldest Barolo wineries. Now led by Giacomo Damilano’s grandchildren, this family-owned estate blends sustainability with tradition. Their deep connection to the Langhe Hills and respect for the land ensures every bottle delivers unparalleled quality.

The Damilano Barolo Cannubi is for anyone who loves a wine that tells a story. Ready to experience the soul of Barolo? Add the Damilano Barolo Cannubi to your collection today.

100% Nebbiolo. Juicy cherries, ripe plums, tobacco, licorice, and cocoa, accented by delicate herbal undertones. Broad and full-bodied, dry yet delightfully soft, with silky tannins and a persistent, luxurious finish.

A tannic and structured red with dried-strawberry, stone and cedar character. Medium-to full-bodied, chewy and muscular — yet polished and well-formed. Drink or hold. ~95 James Suckling

Brilliant ruby. Open and memorable nose, rich, dark berries, lots of plum and blackberry, some orange, cinchona bark in the background. Juicy fruit on the palate, then builds very well, lots of dense, sturdy tannins, still needs some ageing but has good ageing potential. ~93 Falstaff

Rich and saturated, with cherry and strawberry flavors, gaining support from dense, assertive tannins. Yet there's plenty of sweetness, with accents of anise, tar and underbrush. Shows excellent length and finesse. Best from 2019 through 2033. 3,083 cases made, 252 cases imported. ~93 Wine Spectator

I am impressed by the 2012 Barolo Cannubi. This celebrated vineyard site suffered serious hail damage in the 2012 vintage, and the vintners who farm this cru resorted to severe fruit selection in order to safeguard quality. Damilano has pulled out the best of the vintage for sure. This is a beautiful wine that boasts a delicate and feminine approach. There is pressed rose, dried violet, wild berry, cassis, cola, truffle and tilled earth. Lighter aromas of ash and smoke lift gracefully from the glass. The tannins are silky and long. ~93 Robert Parker

Aromas of ripe berry, menthol chopped herb, dark spice and a balsamic note float out of the glass. On the dense palate, cinnamon, baking spice, and tobacco add depth to the juicy black cherry core. Firm, fine-grained tannins provide the framework. ~92 Wine Enthusiast

The 2012 Barolo Cannubi shows the more powerful side of the year. Black cherry, smoke, French oak, mocha, plum and chocolate notes all develop in the glass. This is an especially powerful, intense expression of Cannubi, and yet all the elements are nicely balanced within the opulent style that is the signature of the Damilano Barolos. There is plenty of depth in the glass, but the 2012 comes across as a wine that is best enjoyed sooner rather than later.  ~92 Vinous Media
