Reviews

The core of fruit in this is beautiful with seamless tannins that run the length of the wine and deliver a cylinder of refined fruit. Long at the finish. Better than 2022. ~94-95 JS

The 2023 La Louvière has a well-defined bouquet with black cherries, bilberry and light floral scents percolating through with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded tannins. This is less austere than many of its peers, with fine acidity and slightly savory black fruit. There is a juiciness here that I appreciate, and it should drink well after just three or four years. ~90-92 NM-VM

The 2023 La Louvière is packed with dark red cherry, spice, leather, tobacco, scorched earth and gravel. A rich, heady wine, the 2023 offers plenty of depth and overall complexity. There's good potential here and certainly more precision than in the past. The blend is 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, raised 85% in French oak barrels and 15% in amphorae. Tasted two times. ~90-92 AG-VM
