The Erikson & Caradin story began with the 2013 vintage when these two passionate wine lovers crafted a wine that was exclusively shared with friends and esteemed restaurants in the area. As the years unfolded, so did their ambition. In 2016, they obtained access to a greater quantity of fruit, increasing their production from 85 cases to 264 cases. And so, the dream was born.
The folks behind Erikson & Caradin know that soil, elevation, and climate are key ingredients in making outstanding wine. When mixed with expert know-how, these elements create truly remarkable wines.
They are experts in making wines that truly represent their unique terroir, which is exactly what winemaker Kevin Morrisey is achieving. With a rich background that includes working at Chateau Petrus, Stags' Leap, Etude, and Ehlers Estate, Kevin certainly knows his stuff.
Their goal is simple: To source the most remarkable Cabernet parcels from the most prestigious regions, setting a new benchmark of quality.
Erikson & Caradin’s Innovative Series showcases the art of exceptional winemaking, starting in Napa Valley’s premier Coombsville AVA. Drawing fruit from two extraordinary vineyards—one near the famed Palmaz Estate and another by Covert Estate—this wine blends innovation with terroir.Using expert pruning techniques like spur and quadrilateral training, it delivers unparalleled concentration and quality.
Coombsville’s buzzworthy neighbors, like Realm’s Farella ($268) and Favia ($260), command sky-high prices, but this exclusive release from Erikson & Caradin offers the same pedigree without the cost. Usually reserved for their mailing list, we’ve secured a limited number of cases just for you!
100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Scents of blackcurrant, violet blossoms, cedarwood, and hints of earth. It is graceful on the palate with the sophistication of blueberry notes mixed with whispers of dark chocolate. Fine tannins lend structure, ensuring a luxuriously enduring finish.
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Quadrilateral is in the same boat qualitatively, yet it comes from the cooler, southern Coombsville appellation. More blue fruits, mint, sage, and sappy herb notes define the aromatics, hitting the palate with medium to full-bodied richness and depth. It is another terrific wine from this team that has terrific purity, balance, and depth. Drink bottles over the coming 10-12 years. ~ 94 Jeb Dunnuck
Notes of dark berries, red licorice, dark chocolate and moist earth. Medium- to full-bodied with velvety tannins. Firm and lightly chewy with a succulent, dark-fruited finish. Balanced and well-made. Chalky finish. ~ 93 James Suckling
