What if you could taste Bordeaux without the hefty price tag? Imagine sipping on a wine that feels like velvet, with the richness of dark cherries, blackberries, and just a kiss of cocoa. Sounds dreamy, doesn’t it? Meet the 2020 Chateau Puy D’Amour Grain De Folie—the perfect Bordeaux for those who want it all: exceptional quality, irresistible charm, and a price that leaves room for dessert.
This wine isn’t just another bottle; it’s a love letter to Bordeaux’s best-kept secrets. Crafted by Dominique Raimond—aka “the maestro who makes Malbec sing”—this is a bottle with soul. Dominique, born and bred in Bordeaux, pours his family’s generations of winemaking expertise into every sip. From his sustainably managed vineyards overlooking the Gironde estuary, he’s created something truly special.
Grain De Folie is made from 85% Merlot and 15% Malbec, giving it that signature Bordeaux elegance with a playful twist. It’s vinified in egg-shaped barrels (yes, egg-shaped—because Dominique is all about innovation) and aged in amphoras and oak barrels for 12 months. The result? A wine that’s as complex as it is approachable, bursting with character and charm.
But let’s get real: what makes this wine irresistible is how it fits into your life. Fancy a burger night? Grain De Folie elevates it. Grilling a steak? It’s a match made in wine heaven. Whipping up a hearty stew? This wine is the ultimate sidekick. It’s versatile, easygoing, and made to turn even the simplest meals into something extraordinary.
And the best part? While the flavours scream luxury, the price whispers, “Go ahead, treat yourself.” You’re getting Bordeaux brilliance without the sticker shock. This is the wine for those who know quality but also appreciate a good deal.
Don’t just take our word for it. James Suckling gave it 91 points, calling it "rich with dark cherries, cassis, and blackberries." Decanter’s 91-point review praised its "harmonious nose of ripe black plums, prunes, and nutmeg." Critics love it, but it’s your opinion that counts.
