About the Wine

You need a Pinot Noir to drink on any given day of the week, and this is the bottle it should be. The Rural Pinot Noir is grown in the cool Mendocino climate which fills this wine to the brim with energy. At under $25 this bad boy drinks well above its price point, with plenty of depth and character. Once you taste it, you will absolutely be looking for a case.

The 2019 Rural Pinot Noir (Eagle Peak AVA) comes from fruit grown by the Fetzer brothers, with a splash of old vine Pinot Noir grown by longtime family friends, brothers Pete and Steve Johnson. The fruit was hand-harvested and whole-berry destemmed into small open-top fermenters. After a four-day cold soak, and a ten-day fermentation, the wine was pressed to French oak barrels for aging. The wine was sur-lie aged, with no racking until bottling.

Tasting notes: 100% Pinot Noir. Pure and zesty, with expressive red fruit flavors, accented by savory tea and spice. Fine tannins add to the elegant structure and velvety finish.

Reviews

This fresh and appealing wine offers exuberant cherry and strawberry flavors that are nicely concentrated, along with a very smooth, mouth-filling texture and just a touch of tannin for grip ~90 Wine Enthusiast
