About the Wine

Behind Littorai's exceptional wines stand two remarkable individuals, Ted and Heidi Lemon. Their journey began with an Enology degree from the Université de Dijon and extended to prestigious wineries across the world. From Burgundy's vineyards to California's landscapes, they embraced a philosophy rooted in terroir-driven winemaking. Their legacy of finesse, balance, and dedication shines through every bottle.

In 1992, Ted and Heidi embarked on a quest to find the finest conditions for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Their passion led them to the coastal hills of Sonoma and Mendocino counties, where Littorai was born. Starting with limited resources but boundless determination, they produced their initial wines. Today, Littorai stands as a testament to their unwavering commitment to the land. This cult-status winery is one of the most celebrated estates in California and the world.

Littorai's commitment goes beyond winemaking. They are pioneers of generative agriculture, a paradigm that harmonizes human existence with nature's rhythms. Recognizing humanity's role in the environment, they strive to create farms that contribute positively to their surroundings. This philosophy ushers in a new era of responsible stewardship.

Reviews

Medium to deep ruby-purple colored, the 2014 Pinot Noir The Haven Vineyard gives a complex nose of red currants, cranberries, and black raspberries over dried herbs, underbrush, dusty earth, and fungi notes, plus hints of tree bark and black tea. Medium-bodied, the palate packs in the intense flavor layers, with tons of earthy notes complimented by red fruits and supported by chewy tannins, finishing long with a refreshing lift. Though very tempting to drink now, this Pinot should reward cellaring, aging gracefully over the next 15+ years~96 Wine Advocate ~96 Wine Advocate
