Most wine collectors and sommeliers will tell you that the wines of Chablis are among some of the most highly sought-after wines in all of Burgundy. Chablis is known for producing a high-quality, mineral-driven, unoaked Chardonnay with exceptional acidity. The wines are frequently referenced as a pure unaltered expression of Chardonnay.

The Chablis region of Burgundy has one of the rares and most incredible soils in the world, it's a  rich soil of clay and limestone that nurtures Chardonnay. Also known as the Kimmeridgian soil, is born of 180 million years of oyster shells fossilizing into soil. That’s why Chablis is so distinctive from Chardonnay produced in other regions.

One of the top Chablis producers is Lamblin & Fils. The Lamblin family have owned vineyards in Chablis since 1690. Today, this amazing winery is in the hands of the 12 generation, Clement Lamblin. Clement is a passionate winemaker who gained his expertise working in Beaune. He’s a very well-recognized winemaker in the area. A few years ago he won a regional award, being recognized as one of the “Young Talented Winemakers” of the year.

The Lamblin family owns different vineyards in some of the best terroirs in Burgundy like Auxerre. In the Chablis appellation, they’re vineyards are made out of Gand Cru, Premer Cru, and Petit Chablis. All the vineyards are managed with sustainable practices.

Located in the commune of Chablis, this iconic appellation graces the right bank of the Serein River, northeast of the town. The vineyards span altitudes of 100 to 250 metres, their unique microclimate lending distinct character to the wines. Chablis Grand Cru is singular in its appellation but divided into seven celebrated climates, each with a distinct personality etched into the label: Bougros, Les Preuses, Vaudésir, Grenouilles, Valmur, Les Clos, and Blanchot.

These prized vineyards thrive on soils steeped in history, composed of calcareous marls rich with fossilized oysters (Exogyra virgula) dating back to the Upper Jurassic period, 150 million years ago. This ancient terroir imbues the wines with their unmistakable minerality and complexity, showcasing Chardonnay at its most sublime.

Aging: 12 to 18 months.

100% Chardonnay. Beautiful brilliant and deep robe, golden yellow with green reflections. Pleasant nose, with subtle aromas of dried flowers (lime blossom, white lilac) and very ripe white-fleshed fruits (peach, pear). Characterized by a beautiful structure from the start (freshness and roundness are present), this Grand Cru Les Clos develops delicate aromas of small dried fruits, white peach and fine spices on the finish.
