Today, the wines from Châteauneuf-du-Pape in Rhone, are recognized for their unique character and exceptional quality, with Robert Parker calling it "one of the world's most prestigious appellations.”

Founded by Raymond Usseglio in 1963, Domaine Raymond Usseglio et Fils traces its roots back to the wine-rich soil of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. From the sun-kissed vineyards where Francis Usseglio first planted his roots in 1948 to the present-day stewardship of Stephane Usseglio, each generation has woven its story into the fabric of this esteemed domaine.

Stephane Usseglio, guided by a deep reverence for the land and a commitment to organic practices, tends to vines that range from 50 to over 110 years old. Situated on both the historic "La Crau" and the picturesque slopes overlooking the ruins of the Pope's castle, these vines thrive in diverse soils, each contributing its unique character to the final blend.

The 2018 Stephane Usseglio Chateauneuf-du-Pape Fragments is inspired by the finesse of Burgundy, each bottle embodies the meticulous attention to detail and the pursuit of elegance that defines Domaine Raymond Usseglio et Fils.

Beyond mere viticulture, biodynamics at Domaine Raymond Usseglio et Fils is a way of life—a commitment to nurturing the earth, honoring natural cycles, and fostering harmony between humanity and nature.

The 2018 'Fragments' Chateauneuf-du-Pape is a wonderful showing from Stéphane Usseglio. This begins with pretty aromatics of raspberries and dark plums, woven together with exotic spices, wild herbs, black licorice, iron and hints of white pepper all taking shape in the glass. On the palate this impresses with its gorgeous texture and wonderful overall concentration and depth. It goes on to display remarkable structure and balance through the long, juicy finish. While this is delightful now, it will surely evolve gracefully for years to come. Composed of 80% Grenache, along with equal parts Syrah, Mourvedre, Counoise and Clairette Rose. ~94 The International Wine Report
