As you can read on the title of the wine, it is owned by the Domaines Barons de Rothschild, the owners of none other than the world-famous Château Lafite Rothschild.Lafite is a Bordeaux First Growth classified Château, and one of the most iconic, sought-after, and loved wines of all savvy wine drinkers.

The family was inspired to create a new wine series, with each wine embodying the essence of its appellation. Their goal was straightforward: to enable wine lovers everywhere to immerse themselves in Bordeaux and savor the uniqueness of each appellation. Thus, the Les Légendes range was born.

Crafted with the expertise of over six generations, this exquisite white wine embodies the very essence of the legendary Bordeaux region. Since 1868, the legendary Rothschild family has perfected the art of winemaking, blending tradition with modern sustainability practicesto bring you a wine that is both exceptional and environmentally conscious.

Winemaker Diane Flamand oversees the production of Les Légendes since 2004. She previously worked at Sterling Vineyards and trained at Lafite Rothschild, Lynch-Bages and Pichon Longueville Baron. She brings her ambition to forge long-term partnerships with vineyard growers in each appellation. Diane crafts wines with the same dedication as the Rothschild family: passion, discipline, humility, excellence, and harmony.

2018 was an amazing year for Bordeaux. “The wines tend to be rich in fruit, softer in mouthfeel with less tannin and acid,” writes Decanter. Vinous Media gave this vintage a stunning 96 Point review, stating, “The 2018 Right Bank wines are opulent, flamboyant reds. It is a very strong vintage that falls just short of being truly epic.”

Saint Emilion has a wide variety of soils due to erosion, including fossil-rich limestone, sandy-gravelly hilltops, clay-limestone, and sand on clay. This mix of soils creates wines that range from fine and aromatic to smooth and generous.

Aging: 12 months in French oak barrels

85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc. Dark garnet color, brilliant.
Very aromatic nose, mixing notes of roasting (toasted, grilled), sweet spices (cinnamon, nutmeg) with aromas of ripe fruit. The mouth is tense with a long and spicy finish.
