About the Wine

Tom Meadowcraft has over 35 years of experience in viticulture and winemaking. His eponymous winery is one of California wine country’s hidden treasures, producing vineyard-specific, limited-release wines that exhibit a regional backbone with European exuberance. Heralded by Bonfort's Wine & Spirits Journal as a top 100 Winery in 2019, this family-owned estate continues its stride toward one of the world's best.

Meadowcroft is a passion project from a rockstar team of wine professionals. Tom Meadowcroft, has an extensive history of grape growing in both California and Washington state. At Tom's side is Petar Kirilov, who after growing up in a winemaking family in Bulgaria, moved to the United States to continue pursuing his passion for wine. The end product is exceptionally produced wine, that is delicious today and will only continue to improve with time.

Meadowcroft is the namesake of Winegrower Tom Meadowcroft. The meaning of Meadowcroft is a fertile field or meadow and croft refers to a cultivated area that has been nurtured over time. The honeybee on the label symbolizes this conscientious work and the process of transformation from wine grapes into outstanding wine.

And, it comes from a stellar vintage. Wine Spectator blessed this year with 97 points and said it delivered "Wines are ripe and lush yet well-defined; a worthy follow-up to the benchmark 2018 vintage."

Tasting Note: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Blackberry with hints of cedar cigar box and toasted oak grace the nose of this elegant cabernet sauvignon. Rich cassis and bittersweet chocolate shine through the structured, mouth-filling tannins that are silky and plush. This is sure to improve with age; best now through 2028. We're buying only the best of the awesome 2019 Napa Cabs, and you should too!

Reviews

Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim. Fruity nose of blackberries, sweet plums, cooked cherries, cedar, licorice, vanilla, spices, dark coffee, maple syrup, black pepper, light earth, spices, light vegetables, herbs, and tobacco leaf. Full-bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs. Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black cherries, oak, coffee, tobacco, herbs, spices, dark chocolates, and peppercorn. Nice spicy finish with soft tannins and tangy cherries. This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Soft and elegant. Fruit forward with a nice balance. Needs a few hours to open up properly, and I gave it 3 hours in the decanter. Complex and tasty. Rich, extracted, and elegant. The tangy finish makes it interesting. Loved the nose once it opened up.   A good quality wine that will age nicely in the next 10 years. Has the good potential to become a 94+ wine. Good by itself or with food, and will pair nicely with a big piece of steak. A small production of only 6 barrels.  14.5% alcohol by volume. ~92 Odedis.Wine.Reviews
