About the Wine

For over 300 years,Laleure-Piot has called the charming village of Pernand-Vergelesses home, a hidden gem in the Montagne de Corton. In 2010, Champy took the reins and embarked on a journey to transform the entire 24-acre vineyard into a haven of organic farming and biodynamics.

This commitment to sustainability and quality led to a range of exquisite wines, including 1er Crus and Grand Crus. With certification in organic viticulture starting from the 2013 harvest, Laleure-Piot set a new standard for excellence.

Behind the scenes, Laleure-Piot employs meticulous winemaking practices. From controlling yields to manual harvesting, every step is taken to ensure the grapes reach their optimum maturity. Since 2010, modernization efforts have improved grape reception and vinification, resulting in exceptional wines.

The 2019 Laleure-Piot Bourgogne Blanc Chardonnay is a harmonious blend of Chardonnay grapes from Puligny, Meursault, and Rully. Each grape is hand-harvested with exceptional care, capturing the essence of these classic regions. This wine embodies both the timeless character of Chardonnay from the Côte d’Or and the graceful floral elegance typical of the Côte Châlonnaise.

This Chardonnay is extremely versatile. Enjoy it with fresh seafood, creamy pasta dishes, or a cheese platter.

2019 was a great year for white Burgundy. Wine Spectator awarded this vintage with a 93-point review, and said the wines are "complex, balanced, and juicy."

Aging: In French oak barrels (20% new)

Tasting Notes: 100% Chardonnay. The palette is led by a bright yellow color with golden highlights, with a nose of beautiful aromatic intensity that is rich and well-opened, with notes of exotic fruits, white flowers, caramel, and vanilla on a background of toasted bread. Fresh on the palate, with an opulent body that is smooth and round. An aromatic persistence of fruit on the finish united with a good balance between the acidity and the roundness.
