With 98 Points, this amazing "Baby Amarone" is one of Luca Maroni's "Best Italian Wines" of the vintage. Decanter seems to agree, bestowing 96 points on this outstanding example from the region.

Arduini winery was founded in the 1940s, when Luciano’s grandfather, Gabriele started his business in the small town of “Canal” in Marano Valpolicella.

Luciano Arduini took over his father’s company and followed his example by continuing the tradition and adding modernity along with his own personal vision to the winery. Today, Luciano and his son Andrea work together to grow the vines and make the wine. Their style is a perfect fusion between the traditional and the modern.

Andrea Arduni is a passionate winemaker. He graduated from the best school of enology in Pisa in 2007. He has worked for more than 16 wineries around the world. From Tuscany, Umbria, Campania, Trentino, and Piedmont in Italy, and even outside Italy, in South Africa, Romania, and Greece.

Arduini Winery continues to grow and innovate, following the evolutionary path mapped out over seventy years ago. In 2020, they began producing wine in a new and modern cellar.

Andrea Arduini says,"Our philosophy consists in obtaining a product which is the source of joy, happiness, and friendship; those are the most important principles in our lives."

The winery produces several local varietals including Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara, and other native grapes. The line includes Valpolicella Classico, Amarone Della Valpolicella, Recioto Della Valpolicella, Valpolicella Classico Superiore, and Grappa di Amarone.

This wine is produced by a method called “Ripasso”.Ripasso is a term that derives from the refermentation of the grapes on the Amarone lees, which gives the wine a deeper color, body, and dried fruit flavors. These wines tend to have a rich, full-bodied, slight sweetness to them.

Aging: The wine ages 12 months, one-third in French barrels, one-third in American barrels, the other third in Slavonian oak barrels, and the rest of the time in bottles.

60% Corvina, 20% Corvinone, 20% Rondinella. Ruby red color with light purple shades. On the nose, fresh, and floral, and featured black cherry and blackberry notes. On the palate, these aromas carry into the mouth. This wine pairs excellent with red, roasted meat and matured cheeses. We love to share this wine during the holidays because it has a magical balance of sweet ripe fruit, balanced alcohol, and an acidity that pairs with so many different foods.

~98 pts "The Best Italian Wines" Luca Maroni

Ripe and bold with a sweet, jammy fruit profile. There are light black cherries intertwined with sweet spices and a precise fruit palate. The mouthfeel is tight, intense, and deep with an oak sheen and a note of peppery development. ~96 Decanter.
