About the Wine

Established in 1725, the Domaine Ehrhart, located in Wettolsheim in Alsace, is a family business rooted in an ancestral tradition. They are winegrowers one after another, from father to son, passionately produce wines from exceptional terroirs. Today the Domaine is led by the seventh generation, taking over the business with as much passion as ever.

In 2010, Domaine Ehrhart began implementing organic farming practices across all their vineyards. In 2012 the Domaine was officially biodynamically certified by Demeter

Domaine Ehrhart approach to biodynamic agriculture is a method of organic farming that works in real partnership with nature. They seek to develop and support the natural processes that lead to harmonious growth and healthy harvests. Balanced agriculture based on good agronomic practices used in organic farming and supplements them by invigorating the soil with preparations based on medicinal plants. It also uses the natural rhythms that are solar, lunar, and planetary rhythms.

This Gewürztraminer comes from the Grand Cru Hengst, these vines are on a 350m slope that's covered in marl and calcareous clay soils.

Tasting Notes: 100% Gewurztraminer. A mellow and very aromatic wine with spicy notes. Full-on the nose and on the palate. We find aromas of white chocolate, white pepper, and apples that will go perfectly with foie gras or desserts such as fruit tarts.
