1979 Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou Saint Julien 2nd Classified Growth

Delicate but still with complexity and perfect to drink. Well enjoyed!

Floral and elegant. Very smooth and balanced. Strong mineral (copper in particular). But the wine cannot last very long - should finish within first hour after open.

This was my first highly aged Bordeaux. It was amazing but very different than a new wine. It was not sweet at all but almost like tart fruit + smoked meat. It was surprising but amazing.
