The Champagne house of Godmé was established in 1930 by Michèle and Bertrand Godmé. Sabine and her brother Hugues divided the 11-hectare estate in equal parts. Today Sabine Godmé and her husband Jean Marie Guillaume represent the 4th generation. All the viticulture here is sustainable and on average 30% of the primary fermentation is done in barrel. The estate is located in the heart of Montagne de Reims, specifically in the Grand Cru village of Verzenay. They also own vineyards in the Grand Cru village Beaumont-sur-Vesle and Verzy as well as the Premier Cru villages of Villers-Marmery and Montbré. These are Champagnes that allow the nuance of the Grand Cru and Premier Cru terroir to really be the focus and are not over manipulated.

Definitely dry, this Champagne is crisp, nervy, textured, and needing further bottle age. The wine has enormous potential richness from the intensity and structure of the grand cru fruit of Verzenay. Drink from 2021. ~94 Wine Enthusiast
