Celene Bordeaux was born from the merger of the historic Crémant de Bordeaux winery (formerly Ballarin) and the Lannoye vineyards. The latter are made up of three estates on the right bank of the Garonne and located in the appellation Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, Puisseguin Saint-Émilion, and Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. The owners of this estate view their emphasis on sparkling wines as a step towards modernity. This estate's specialization in sparkling wine is surely apparent in the glass, every sip leaves you wanting more.
Crémant de Bordeaux is an appellation of sparkling wine made with the traditional method (or method Champenoise). This style of wine is the perfect alternative to Champagnes, which are generally more expensive. So, if you're into bubbles, but don't want to spend an arm and a leg, try this one! Bordeaux is certainly more famous for its still wines than its sparkling wines. The one thing guaranteed is there is value to be had in this often-overlooked style.
Aging: 60% Sémillon, 30% Muscadelle, 10% Sauvignon blanc aged 12 months in bottle
