"Rocksteady is the nearest we make to being back home in Saint Emilion. Cabernet Franc is in our DNA (Le Dome), and Merlot is the main grape variety that we love." ~World's End Team.

The vineyard fruit in these wines is considered among the finest in all of Napa. The winemaking hand is that of one of the finest winemakers in all of Bordeaux. The result is a Napa Valley Cab that is decidedly Bordeaux in character. This is not a hit you over the head with oak and fruit. This a more nuanced and balanced Cab that will leave you beguiled and reaching back again and again for another glass.

World's End, the audacious Napa Valley venture of renowned Bordeaux winemaker Jonathan Maltus, offers a unique perspective on Californian winemaking. The name "World's End" is a nod to the Chelsea district in London, where Maltus once lived.

Jonathan Maltus a.k.a “the cult winemaker” is a Rockstar in the wine industry, who also produces high-end, award-winning wines in Bordeaux like Chateau Le Dome (compare at $200/btl), Le Carre, Les Asteries, and Vieux Chateau Mazerat in Bordeaux.

World's End sources its grapes from some of Napa Valley's most prestigious vineyards, including those owned by legendary grower Andy Beckstoffer (AKA “Napa’s most powerful grape grower” by both the Wall Street Journal and Wine Spectator),To Kalon Missouri Hooper, Vineyard D Missouri Hooper, Vineyard B Circle S, Georges III Carneros Lake Vineyard, Pritchard Hill, and the Stagecoach Vineyard. These prime locations contribute significantly to the exceptional quality of his wines.

Named after the iconic Jamaican music genre, 'Rocksteady' embodies a rebellious and rhythmic energy. This unusual blend for Napa Valley - Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon - is a nod to the classic Bordeaux varietals, delivering a wine with finesse and structure.

2019 was a fabulous year for Napa Valley. Wine Spectator awarded this year a 97-point score, and Vinous Media gave it 96 points saying that "The 2019 Napa Valley Cabernets have turned out beautifully. 2019 is a very high-quality vintage of Cabernets that will be easy to drink and enjoy with minimal cellaring. The extra kick of late heat softened the tannins, making the wines a pleasure to taste and drink."

75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. A full-bodied, rich wine, with ripe black fruit and big velvety tannins, beautifully balanced and very persistent. Notes of rhubarb, exotic spice, red cherries, touch of green pepper.

The 2019 Red Blend Rocksteady is composed of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it delivers warm plums, black cherry compote, and licorice with touches of lavender and truffles. Full- bodied, it is rich and spicy in the mouth, with plush tannins and lively acidity, finishing with a fragrant lift. 390 cases were made. ~92 The Wine Independent Magazine

A blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc from a Beckstoffer-farmed vineyard in Carneros, the 2019 Rocksteady Proprietary Blend starts off a bit dusty and cedary, with notes of black cherries and earth and a hint of tobacco. It's medium to full-bodied and firmly built, with a long, softly tannic finish. ~91+ Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
