Welcome to Château Corbin, one of the oldest and most storied estates in Saint-Émilion. Picture yourself strolling down a tree-lined drive, with the whispers of history surrounding you. This estate, with roots going back to the 15th century, is more than just a vineyard—it's a living piece of winemaking history, passed down through generations. Today, Château Corbin is carefully managed by Anabelle Cruse, the fourth generation of her family to oversee these cherished vines, continuing a proud legacy.

Château Corbin is where history meets modern winemaking. Legend says these lands once belonged to the Black Prince from the Hundred Years' War. Over the years, the estate has evolved, combining architectural beauty with state-of-the-art techniques, thanks to Anabelle Cruse and her husband, Sébastien Bardinet. Together, they’ve infused Château Corbin with soul, strength, and a deep respect for its exceptional terroir.

The 2015 Château Corbin is a perfect blend of power and elegance, earning a remarkable 94 points. This vintage beautifully reflects the estate’s unique terroir, dominated by Merlot and enhanced by 17% Cabernet Franc. The vineyard, with its sand and clay soils rich in iron, produces fruit that is both vibrant and refined.

The 12.31-hectare vineyard is mostly planted with Merlot, with vines averaging 33 years in age, and some Cabernet Franc vines over 60 years old. This rich heritage, combined with meticulous care and advanced winemaking, creates a wine that speaks to both history and the future.

As it was recently bottled the nose is a little closed right now, but with a minute in the glass this starts to drum roll, building up flavour and layers of texture. This is going to age beautifully. Just 38hl/ha were harvested because of very small berries - around 30% smaller than 2014. It’s a little more fragrant and floral than other St-Emilions in 2015. A lovely wine, with touches of cinnamon finessing the finish. Only 10% was used in second wine production. Matured in 40% new oak — normally larger vintages could go as far as 50%, but this year they felt they wanted to keep the emphasis on the subtle beauty of the fruit. ~94 Decanter

Dense tannins are balanced by rich black-fruit flavors. The attractive and stylish wine shows the generous nature of the vintage.~92-94 Wine Enthusiast

From a 13-hectare estate located north and slightly west of the village of Saint-Emilion, the 2015 Château Corbin is mostly Merlot blended with 17% Cabernet Franc, all of which comes from sandier, clay soils. It offers ample notes of ripe cherries, strawberries, dried herbs and bouquet garni, with a beautiful floral quality developing with time in the glass. Ripe, undeniably sexy and polished on the palate, with full-bodied richness and ultra-fine tannin, give bottles a few year and drink over the following 10-15. Tasted three times. ~93 Jeb Dunnuck

A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc aged for 18 months in barrels, 40% new, the 2015 Corbin is medium garnet-purple colored with cigar box and spice box notions accenting the core of red and black plums, blackberry preserves and earthy layers plus a hint of lavender. The palate is medium to full-bodied, firm, elegant and well balanced with grainy tannins, finishing lively and long. ~92 Wine Advocate

A fresh and clean young wine with blackberry, white pepper and spice aromas and flavors. Full body, solid core of fruit. 85% merlot, 10% cabernet franc and 5% cabernet sauvignon. ~91-92 James Suckling

A rather chunky style, with fig, boysenberry and blackberry confiture notes thoroughly embedded with grippy, brambly structure. Roasted apple wood and licorice snap notes fill in on the finish. Relies on power more than guile. Best from 2020 through 2027. 5,000 cases made. ~90 Wine Spectator
