Winery is Next to J Vineyards and Aperture Cellars: 2018 Ketcham Estate Five Clone Pinot Noir Russian River Valley
The pinot offer, of all pinot offers! Let’s dive in (but not for too long):
Wine Spectator once wrote: “Is it possible to love a wine region to death? Sometimes it seems that way with Sonoma's Russian River Valley”. Well, I couldn't help but ask myself that very question after tasting the 2018 Ketcham Estate Five Clone Pinot Noir Russian River Valley.
Imagine stumbling upon a hidden gem in the heart of the Russian River Valley – that's Ketcham Estate! The estate is located just next to J Vineyards and Aperture Cellars, which means they share the same incredible terroir but definitely not the same price tag. It also enjoys a prime spot just across the river from iconic names like Flowers, Rochioli, Gary Farrell, and William Selyem.
Ketcham is a family-owned boutique winery operated by three extremely talented women. Guided by visionary owner Allie Ketcham, seasoned director Renée Graves, and the talented winemaker Tami Collins, this winery is a testament to passion and expertise.
Let's put it this way: This Pinot Noir is pure delight. It's well-balanced with flavors like dark cherry, strawberry, vanilla, cola, and hints of floral aromas. Finding an older vintage Russian River Valley Pinot Noir at this price is amazing. It's a wonderful representation of the classic Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. In short, this wine is fantastic!
Now there’s one more you need to know about this offer: The VINTAGE! One for the books. Blessed with a 98-point score by Vinous Media, who said, "Two thousand eighteen is a spectacular vintage for Sonoma Pinot Noir in which many producers made some of the very finest wines of their careers.”
