Portuguese Powerhouse You Can Drink Everyday: 2019 Quinta de la Rosa Estate White
Portugal has recently started making a name for itself as an exceptional dry wine producer in the international markets. Simply put it's one of, if not, the most exciting wine regions in the world.
Portugal is similar to buying the Tesla IPO, Crypto in 2016, or NFTs last year; getting in early on a new trend is always best on the pocketbook. This makes the Portgual born 2019 Quinta de la Rosa Estate White the perfect daily drinker to keep stocked.
This lusciously rich white wine is an easy step in between Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, that's chock full of spiced stone fruit aromatics. If you are interested in seeing the level of quality that the Duoro Valley has to offer in its dry wines, this is the perfect starting point.
Hailing from a region that has essentially only been regarded as a staple amongst fortified dessert wines, it's extremely refreshing to see such a delicious white wine being made. In the Duoro, the vast majority of producers that are imported into the United States are owned by foreign companies, that isn’t the case with Quinta de la Rosa. This estate has been family-owned for over 100 years and produces wine from their own 55 hectares of vineyards. It is hard to stress just how rare of a situation this is.
This wine has received great recognition from critics having been called an “overachiever” that can “hold its own” by the Wine Advocate. I don’t see this bottle staying under the radar for much longer, so take advantage of this extremely approachable price while you can.
