Pomerol is a region that has become synonymous with “extremely high-quality” and “expensive” wine, so much so that it's very unlikely you’ll ever find yourself using the words “good value” and “Pomerol” in the same sentence.
It has become practically impossible to find a good value Pomerol these days. But you know here at BHW, we always love a good challenge. Today, we’re happy to announce that we found an amazing value Pomerol just for you: The 2018 Chateau Maillet Pomerol, a classic beauty.
I know you might be wondering; how did you manage to get a 94-pointoutstanding Pomerol from a Château located just half a mile (yes, that's a 10-minute walk) away from world-renowned Petrus, and at less than $60/ bottle? Well, as you already know, it is our mission to scour the world to find only the best wines and bring them to you. Château Maillet is a BHW exclusive import.
Chateau Maillet dates back to 1820 when the Moze Berthon Family was established in the area. In 2009, the Château incorporated Hubert de Bouard of Chateau Angelus as their wine consultant, this led to the complete renovation of the cellar and the Château, and so, Châteu Maillet was born: A new wine from the Pomerol appellation, made by an old and classic Chateau.
This brilliant Pomerol is a perfect blend of 90% Merlot and just a subtle touch of 10% Cab Franc. James Suckling called it a "classic beauty."And Jeb Dunnuck said it is a "complex, and sumptuous Pomerol that's already hard to resist."
Indeed, a classic beauty that shows beautiful notes of blueberries and blackberries, hints of mocha and cigar, and floral aromas like violets. This wine is elegant and structured with a very long finish. Coming from an epic 96-point vintage, that Vinous Media called "opulent, flamboyant."
This is an offer that comes once in a lifetime. And with 34% off + free shipping on 6 or more bottles, we completely agree with Dunnuck: This amazing Pomerol is “hard to resist”.
