Today’s offer is an amazingly structured and elegant Rioja, that comes from one of the most respected estates in all of Spain: the 94pt 2015 La Rioja Alta Torre de Ona 'Finca Martelo' Reserva Rioja.
Torre de Oña winery is part of La Rioja Alta’s estates, a winery that has been recognized among “The World Most Admired Wine Brands” in 2021 by Drinks International.La Rioja Alta has been around so long that this estate is a large part of the reason that Rioja is what it is today.
But let me tell you, my friend, that Torre de Oña is much more than a celebrated name, it’s also home to some of the best Tempranillos in the country, like this one right here.
This Rioja Reserva is pure magic. I personally love Spanish wines, so I know how I like my Spanish wines, and this amazing Rioja exceeded all my expectations, as it also exceeded some of the most important wine critics too. Vinous Media says it is “Lively and seamless in texture.”Wine Spectator described it as a “Supple, polished, and harmonious” wine. And James Suckling stated that this is a “Rich, fruity red.”
This beautiful Rioja will sweep you off your feet. You can easily drink this wine by itself, but if you want to experience the full Spanish experience, pair it with paella, chorizo, patatas bravas, or Jamon Iberico.
