This boutique winery is nestled in the charming village of Monthélie in the renowned Côte de Beaune in Burgundy. It all started with Pierre Doreau, a true pioneer who arrived in the Nolay region to help replant vines devastated by phylloxera. Here’s when he acquired a few precious plots of land for himself, and so Domaine Doreau was born.
Since the 19th century, Domaine Doreau’s wine-growing mastery has passed from generation to generation, each of them, passionately carrying forward the legacy, cultivating exceptional wines that embody the essence of the terroir.
Today, Jérôme and Emilie Doreau are the proud owners, steering the estate into the future while staying rooted in the past. Their dedication to sustainable viticulture has earned them the prestigious High Environmental Value certification (level 3) in 2019.
This exceptional red Burgundy is crafted exclusively from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. Domaine Doreau practices organic farming and sustainable vinification methods. Their meticulous pruning techniques, careful grape selection, and controlled fermentation result in a wine that embodies the essence of its terroir.
Demand for Burgundy is soaring. Demand for exemplary Burgundy at prices like this is even more so. Don't miss this great-value Pinot Noir!
Aging: 12 to 15 months in French oak barrels (ten percent in new barrels).
Tasting Notes: 100% Pinot Noir. Deep garnet red, powerful and fine, ripe fruit. This wine is characterized by its medium body and well-integrated tannins, providing a smooth and lingering finish. It is a wine that can be enjoyed in its youth or further aged to develop even more complexity.
