Since 1984, Byron has been on a mission to craft exceptional wines that showcase the unique terroir of Santa Barbara County. Their obsession with site-specific Pinot Noir and Chardonnay has led to the creation of this exquisite Chardonnay.

The history of Byron Winery is a tale of passion and dedication. Founded by Ken Brown on the site of the original Nielsen Vineyard, the winery released its first Pinot Noir in 1984. Since then, it has passed through the hands of renowned wine households like Robert Mondavi, Constellation Brands, and Legacy Estates Group culminating in Jackson Family Wines' ownership today.

A good share of Byron's winemaking magic happens right in the vineyard, where the talented winemaker Jonathan Nagy hand-selects individual rows and blocks. He has an uncanny ability to identify the potential of each vine, focusing on clones that best capture Byron's signature balanced, textural, and site-expressive style.

Jonathan Nagy, Byron's winemaker since 2003, is a true Pinot Noir and Chardonnay master. A UC Davis graduate with over 20 years of winemaking expertise, his journey has taken him to some of California's most prestigious cellars like Mondavi, Cambria, and JWilkes.

Aging: 10 months, 40% French new oak barrels

Tasting Notes: 100% Chardonnay. A blend of Pommard clones 4 and 95. Clone 4 offers aromas of lemon curd and key lime pie. Clone 95 delivers honey, fruit blossoms, and red apples. This rich and multilayered wine displays wonderful acidity with a hint of wet stone on the finish.
