A 2019 Red Burgundy at this price? Nearly unthinkable, yet we've made it happen!
For over 300 years, Laleure-Piot has called the charming village of Pernand-Vergelesses home, a hidden gem in the Montagne de Corton. In 2010, Champy took the reins and embarked on a journey to transform the entire 24-acre vineyard into a haven of organic farming and biodynamics.
This commitment to sustainability and quality led to a range of exquisite wines, including 1er Crus and Grand Crus. With certification in organic viticulture starting from the 2013 harvest, Laleure-Piot set a new standard for excellence.
Behind the scenes, Laleure-Piot employs meticulous winemaking practices. From controlling yields to manual harvesting, every step is taken to ensure the grapes reach their optimum maturity. Since 2010, modernization efforts have improved grape reception and vinification, resulting in exceptional wines.
This Pinot Noir hails from the French regions of Yonne, Côte d’Or, and Saône-et-Loire. The terrain in which they flourish boasts a unique clay-limestone composition, known as argilo-calcaire.
2019 was an outstanding year for Burgundy. This vintage was blessed with a 98-point review by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.
Aging: 10 months in French oak barrels.
Tasting Notes: 100% Pinot Noir. Led by a ruby red color with garnet reflections, an open and fresh nose with notes of small red fruits on a background of violet, and followed by a frank attack – pleasant, round, and supple on the mouth. Final tannins are fine and silky.
