Nestled in the heart of Calistoga, a stone's throw from the legendary Chateau Montelena—star of the iconic "Judgement of Paris"— you'll find Bennett Lane Winery. This isn't just any Napa Valley estate; it's a powerhouse crafted by winemaking virtuoso Rob Hunter, a veteran of some of the region's most celebrated wineries. But it's the 2019 vintage that truly steals the show. A year hailed as one of Napa's finest (and awarded 97-points!). With limited bottles remaining, this is your golden ticket to a piece of winemaking history.

Bennett Lane Winery is located at the northern end of the beautiful Napa Valley, where the valley floor gracefully meets the majestic Mayacamas Mountains. Just a stone's throw away lies the charming town of Calistoga, surrounded by the rugged Palisades and crowned by Mount St. Helena. FYI: This winery is in front of world famous Chateau Montelena; their Cab can fetch up to $200/bottle!

Not only that, the property is also surrounded by the who’s who of Calistoga: Myriad, Envy, Tamber Bey, Carter Cellars, all offering Cabernets priced at $100 or more, most of which boast impressive 95+ point ratings from critics. This region is the proud home of 70 wines awarded 90+ points by Wine Spectator.

The journey of Randy and Lisa Lynch into the world of wine began during their travels in Italy, where wine is part of the everyday routine, and it’s found at every single dinner table. Here’s where the dream was born, and so, they established their own vineyards in Napa Valley with the goal of crafting a red wine that would perfectly complement any dinner table. Fun Fact: As a reminder and honor to Lisa and Randy’s wine origins in Italy, you’ll find that all the labels showcase authentic Roman denarius coins, which pay tribute to the rich history of wine in ancient Rome.

Rob Hunter is the talented winemaker who’s behind Bennett Lane’s wines. He embarked on his professional winemaking career at Groth Winery and worked in several well regarded wineries including Keenan, Lyeth, Markham Vineyards, and Sterling Vineyards. Rob's ultimate aspiration is to create the world's finest Cabernet Sauvignon, nothing less.

Rob works hand in hand with Bennett Salts, who initially studied Chemistry at Mendocino College, but his love for wine captured his heart. He soon changed his major to Oenology and transferred to Santa Rosa Junior College. In July 2014, Bennett joined the Bennett Lane team and with Rob, started to make magic together.

On top of that, 2019 was a fabulous year for Napa Valley. Wine Spectator awarded this year a 97-point score, and Vinous Media gave it 96 points saying that "The 2019 Napa Valley Cabernets have turned out beautifully. 2019 is a very high-quality vintage of Cabernets that will be easy to drink and enjoy with minimal cellaring. The extra kick of late heat softened the tannins, making the wines a pleasure to taste and drink."

Bennett Lane Feasting Red blend is an ode to Napa Valley's amazing terroir. Amazing quality Napa Cab proprietary blends at this price barely exists anymore. Experience this Napa Cabernet before it's long gone!

Aging: 12 months in French Oak Barrels, 30% new.

Open this wine and let it breathe. It's been locked up for five years. It really blossomed after 30 minutes in the glass.

Tasting Notes: 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 6% Syrah, 5% Malbec, and 2% Petit Verdot. The wine opens with aromas of ripe cherry, raspberry and vanilla. On the palate the wine is bright and full, with rich flavors of Bing cherry and chocolate. The tannins are elegant and smooth, and it has a fruit driven, long finish.

If you’re motivated to find quality and value, which is our mantra at BHW, then this is one of the best values you’ll find from the Napa red blended category. The winery sells grapes to wineries that sell their wines for well over $100. That makes this $55 wine look like a deal. At $37, this is such a delicious wine, it feels like stealing. If you buy a case and pay $27, I can confidently assure you that you’ll be unlikely to find a better deal than this out of Napa in 2024. ~94 Greg Martellotto, Founder and Owner Bighammerwines.com
