This estate is shrouded in history, it has been painted by Van Gogh, written about by Simone de Beauvoir, and was cited in the predictions of Nostradamus. Today, Sisters Anne and Caroline run Mas de la Dame "Farm of the Lady" located between Baux du Provence and the southern slope of the Alpilles. This is the oldest estate in the village, and these two talented women have done an amazing job continuing their family tradition of making exquisite wine.

The vineyard is comprised of 50 Hectares, all grown in a single plot. Within this grand vineyard, the family grows 12 different varieties of grapes. This is a fairly substantial amount of land, with all the area the estate continues to farm entirely by hand and is even fully organic.

The estate sits on a well-draining soil, formed of stony scree of clay-limestone origin, resulting from the disintegration of the rock, specific to this part of the Alpilles, the vines grow and mingle with the surrounding scrubland in a harmonious balance. The persistent Mistral wind, that famously blows through the Rhone valley promotes good vine health by helping move moisture away from the vines.

50% Grenache, 50% Syrah. Dark ruby in color, this wine opens with bright red cherries and a touch of spice. On the palate, this wine is light on its feet and easy to enjoy especially with a light chill.

This perfumed wine comes from an estate set in the heart of Les Alpilles mountains. A layer of tannins supports the elegant, ripe black fruits and spiciness. The blend of Grenache and Syrah is infused with scents of the warm south, while also having a serious side in its still-young structure. Drink from 2021. ~92 Wine Spectator
