Since 1798, the Lafage family has been crafting exquisite wines, passing their passion and expertise from father to son for over two centuries. Domaine Lafage is a beacon of Catalan winemaking, nestled in the heart of Roussillon, the southernmost region of France. Jean-Marc and Eliane Lafage, a dynamic duo of the wine world, met during their wine studies and have since traversed the globe, honing their craft in the most renowned wine regions. Their adventures in South America, the United States, South Africa, and Australia have infused their winemaking with a blend of innovation and tradition. Today, they oversee a sprawling 350-hectare estate, creating wines that capture the essence of Roussillon.

Narassa is sourced from the famed black schist soils of the Agly Valley near Maury, this wine is a masterpiece of terroir-driven winemaking. The Grenache grapes are harvested in successive passes, ensuring only the ripest clusters are selected, resulting in a semi-ripasso style wine that is rich, textured, and brimming with fruit.

Aging: 12 months in concrete tanks.

70% Grenache, 30% Syrah. The nose is dominated by lots of pure blackberry, crushed herbs, earth and peppery characteristics. The mouth is full bodied, very rich with soft and fine tannins. The finish is fresh with a surprising elegance.

Almost all Grenache yet with 8% Syrah, the deep purple 2018 Narassa gives up a gorgeous bouquet of blueberries, kirsch liqueur, smoked game, violets, and lavender. It's rich, medium to full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, and has a great finish. ~93 Jeb Dunnuck
