And if that wasn't enough,the family also owns a hotel and a restaurant in Menfi and Palermo.

Wow. Lots of spicy and meaty aromas of syrah. Dried fruits too. Full body, soft and silky tannins and a long and flavorful finish. Very complex. Drink now. ~94 James Suckling

The 2011 Syrah Maroccoli is a very interesting interpretation of both grape and territory. The Syrah component comes through loud and clear with soft fruit layers, dark cherry, spice, cured meat and smoked bacon. You also taste Sicily thanks to Mediterranean herb, toasted pistachio and green caper. The tannins are softy textured and plump. This wine would drink nicely with rolled veal involtini stuffed with ham and bread crumbs. ~90 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate

Firm and full bodied, this conveys aromas of mature, dark berry, allspice, coffee and Mediterranean herb. The rich palate offers a core of juicy black cherry, while notes of black pepper, cinnamon and clove provide backup. It's smooth and round with supple tannins. ~90 Wine Enthusiast
