About the Wine
It’s not often that certified organic and 95 points collide in a single bottle, but the Magister Bibendi Graciano Reserva makes it look easy.
This unique and rare Rioja swaps Tempranillo for floral, berry-scented and delicate Graciano; it’s a Spanish Reserva with an edgy side. A few sips of this full-bodied, thought-provoking red had us questioning everything we know about Spain--and wishing there was more of this juice to go around!
Andrés and Ramón Serrano Arriezu come from a long line of Spanish winemakers, but their twist on classic Rioja is anything but traditional. A 100% Graciano from Rioja, their 2010 Reserva is a chuggable twist on Spanish terroir.
Biodynamically grown across 70 hectares of soils including clay, gravel, and limestone the Magister Bibendi Graciano is incredibly balanced, with soft tannins and a floral element that’s rare and refreshing in aged Rioja. 2010 was a brilliant vintage throughout Europe. Wine Advocate rated the vintage 95pts and Wine Spectator called 2010 Rioja a “fresh, focused vintage,” and this Graciano is as fresh as it gets. After eight years in bottle, the ‘10 is on a pretty crescendo toward its prime--don’t miss it.

Reviews
With a vegetal character to the nose, on the palate it is lovely; fresh, tannic and serious, it is made for the long run. A very different style that is persistent and will not please everybody, but it is definitely worth praise. ~95pts, Decanter
