The 2012 Weingut R & A Pfaffl Alten St. Laurent Reserve originates from the renowned Weinviertel region in Austria. This picturesque area, centered around the village of Stetten, features diverse terroirs and microclimates ideal for the St. Laurent grape. With 150 hectares of vineyards spread across Weinviertel and Vienna, the region’s cool climate and fertile soils contribute to the wine's unique character.

Weingut R & A Pfaffl is a family-run winery managed by siblings Roman Josef Pfaffl and Heidi Fischer. Roman oversees the vineyard management and winemaking, while Heidi focuses on business administration and marketing. Their commitment to sustainability is reflected in their certified “Sustainable Austria” practices, which include integrated viticulture techniques and environmental stewardship.

The winery's modern facilities, powered by renewable energy and equipped with a photovoltaic system, ensure minimal environmental impact while maintaining the highest quality standards.

100% St. Laurent. Deep garnet color. Aromas of ripe blackberries and plums with hints of black pepper, clove, and earthy undertones. On the palate, this full-bodied wine reveals rich dark fruit flavors, velvety tannins, and subtle oak nuances. The finish is long and elegant, with lingering notes of spice and fruit. Pair with roasted game, braised meats, or aged hard cheeses.

Dark ruby garnet, solid color core, violet reflections, delicate water edge. Fine nuances of vanilla, black berries, licorice, a hint of pipe tobacco, mineral touch. Powerful, black berry fruit, present tannins, firm, fresh acidity, still somewhat demanding in the aftertaste, will benefit from bottle maturity. ~92 Falstaff
