Château Duhart-Milon, a close neighbor to the iconic Château Lafite Rothschild, is steeped in history and tradition. This vineyard, part of the prestigious Rothschild family since 1962, has roots that stretch back to the days of Louis XV, when a privateer named Sieur Duhart retired to Pauillac and left his mark on the region. Today, Duhart-Milon is celebrated as the only 4th Grand Cru Classé in Pauillac, a testament to its enduring quality.

Located in the heart of the Médoc, Duhart-Milon’s vineyard is truly one of a kind. With 76 hectares of vines planted on a mix of gravel, sand, and clay soils, the vineyard enjoys a prime location near the Gironde estuary. This special terroir, nurtured by nature over thousands of years, is ideal for growing exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes.

Moulin de Duhart is the second wine of Château Duhart-Milon, crafted with the same care and attention as the main wine. Named after an old mill that once stood near the vineyard, Moulin de Duhart comes from younger vines and spends less time aging in barrels. The result? A wine that’s approachable, elegant, and full of character.

Pauillac stands out for its exceptional wines, demonstrated by the fact that it houses three of the five Bordeaux First-Growth wines. The wines of the region carry a trademark of rich, full red wines that have some of the most powerful tannic structures in the Medoc region. This also means their wines age incredibly well.

2018 was an amazing year in Bordeaux's Left Bank, Vinous Media, Robert Parker, and Wine Spectator blessed this vintage with a 96-point review. Wine Spectator said the wines show "terrific drive and definition"

Aging: 12 months in French oak barrels.

60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot. Beautiful dark and deep color. The nose is already very present and powerful, with notes of ripe and fresh fruits such as burnt cherry and pomegranate. In mouth, the attack is ample with a beautiful intensity. A wine of a beautiful power while remaining very greedy and round. The fresh woody taste, well blended, expresses itself on notes of praline pastry. The finish is long and expresses all its potential with a lot of brightness.

Very pretty blueberry and hazelnut character with a hint of dried tea-leaf aroma, following through to a medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a fresh finish. ~92-93 James Suckling

The 2018 Moulin de Duhart is a charming, gorgeous wine to drink now and over the next decade or so, while the sweet red cherry and plum fruit remains front and center. Bright floral notes perk up the finish. The Moulin emerges from the coolest parcels on the property. It is one of the hidden jewels of the vintage. The 2018 spent 12 months in barrel, virtually all used. ~92 Vinous Media

A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon (harvested September 25 to October 4) and 40% Merlot (harvested September 17-25), the deep garnet-purple colored 2018 Moulin de Duhart opens with gregarious scents of black cherries, warm plums and freshly crushed blackcurrants with touches of camphor, pencil lead and cloves plus a waft of lavender. Medium to full-bodied, it has generous mid-palate flesh framed by soft, approachable tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long. ~90-92 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate

Very sleek and fresh, with a racy iron note running along side the core of red currant and bitter cherry flavors. Red tea and sanguine threads stitch up the finish. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2022 through 2030. ~90 Wine Spectator

Duhart is usually pretty austere when young, even in its second wine, but here it is supple and almost approachable, even En Primeur with a richness to the black fruits and capturing a lift through to the finish. It's a cooler terroir at Duhart than at Lafite, which worked out well as a break from the heat of the summer in 2018 and certainly you can feel a freshness in the wine. A yield of 38hl/ha. 3.8pH. ~90 Decanter
