Nestled in the heart of the illustrious Haut-Médoc, you'll find Château Grand Médoc. Its origins trace back to the 17th century, with the first vines planted in 1616. For two centuries, this domaine thrived under the stewardship of noble families until, sadly, it fell into disrepair in the mid-20th century. But as all great stories go, a resurgence was on the horizon. The Riffaud family acquired the château, and with relentless dedication, they began the painstaking process of restoring its former glory.

Today, Paul Riffaud, alongside his son Jean and the rest of the Riffaud clan—Marie-José, Frédéric, Vincent, and Jean Baptiste—continues to breathe life into this historic estate.

This Château is in turn granted the distinction of “Cru Bourgeois” meaning that it is of the same high quality as the finer, aristocratic wines from the 1855 Classification, but without the pedigree.

2010 was an iconic year for this region. Vinous Media blessed this vintage with a 99 point review and said the wines are "Ripe and powerful, with racy tannins and acidity for balance. More structure-driven than the opulent 2009, with better definition of fruit; should be very long-lived."
