Reviews

Possibly my favorite in the lineup from the talented Marie Lefévère, the 2022 Château Moulin Du Cadet is based on 100% Merlot from a tiny 2.85-hectare vineyard that was purchased by the Lefévères in 2015. The average age of the vines is 30 years, and they're planted in pure limestone soils. The wine’s deep purple hue is followed by a smorgasbord-like array of black cherries, blueberries, leather, spicy oak, and spring flowers. Beautifully balanced, medium to full-bodied, and loaded with a sense of limestone-like minerality, it's well worth seeking out and will be a stunning Saint-Emilion to enjoy over the coming two decades. Tasted three times with consistent notes. ~94-97 JD

Dark-chocolate cedar and roasted coffee beans with medium to full body and a tight, chewy tannin structure. Very direct and focused. Shows a touch of class. Salt. ~93-94 JS
