Beni di Batasiolo is a name synonymous with excellence and tradition in the heart of Italy’s esteemed Piedmont region. Since 1978, the Dogliani family has passionately tended to over 320 acres of prime vineyard land, allowing nature’s bounty to guide the creation of their exceptional wines

The Dogliani family's journey in the Langhe district spans five generations, each dedicated to mastering the art of winemaking. The acquisition of the historic Kiola estate in 1978 marked a new era, expanding their holdings to nine prestigious estates. Today, Beni di Batasiolo encompasses some of the most coveted vineyards in Barolo, including the renowned crus: Cerequio, Bussia, Brunate, Briccolina, and Boscareto. These prized sites, designated as Menzioni Geografiche Aggiuntive (MGA), are celebrated for producing wines of unparalleled elegance and longevity. Batasiolo’s dedication to excellence has not gone unnoticed. Their wines have earned a place on Wine Spectator’s Top 100 list six times to date.

Barolo, often hailed as the "King of Wines," owes its majesty to the unique terroir of Piedmont. Beni di Batasiolo's vineyards benefit from an extraordinary combination of soil, climate, and topography, resulting in wines that are both noble and refined. Their Barolo is a testament to this terroir, offering a bold and intense expression of Nebbiolo that is both captivating and complex.

Aging: Aged in Slavonian oak casks for 24 months followed by an additional 12 months in stainless steel.

100% Nebbiolo. Deep garnet red color with delicate orange tinges. With un-mistakeable and unique aromas, it has balsamic hints of vegetables, flowers and spices that make Barolo Cerequio immediately recognizable. It evokes memories of incense, wax, tobacco and coffee magically blended with a delicate ethereal note. Palate of great persistence, full-bodied, elegant, harmonious and balanced.

From a vintage that Beni di Batasiolo has interpreted very nicely, the 2009 Barolo Cerequio opens to a dark garnet color with concentrated color saturation. The bouquet revs up to a well-balanced presentation of dark berry, spice, tar, balsam herb and cola. There is a touch of black truffle or moist earth as well. ~91 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
