From a Master Sommelier turned winemaker, the Miura Russian River Pinot Noir is for the wine lover who enjoys the darker, fruitier side of Pinots. Sourced from one of the Grand Cru vineyards in Sonoma, the Rochioli vineyard is famous for producing some of the best Pinots and Chards in California. The wine is loaded with black cherry, currant and spice. Only 180 cases were produced and this is an end of vintage final offer only available to BHW members.
About the Winery
Miura was launched by Emmanuel Kemiji, M.S. in 1995. He was Wine Director at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Laguna Niguel and at the Dining Room in San Francisco. Among his many achievements, he has been awarded Sommelier of the Year, Wine Director of the year, and a Winemaker to Watch.
Reviews
From a near perfect vintage, this special Pinot Noir from the illustrious Rochioli vineyard is in the Miura style. It is a big, bold, masculine style of Pinot that has a cherry cola and raspberry fruit interlaced with light oak and vanilla. The wine is drinking great now, but will evolve over the next five to seven years. - 95pts BHW Staff
