The Schrader name is synonymous with outstanding, high-scoring Napa Valley Cabernet that is very limited and very expensive. Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown has made so many 100 pt and near perfect wines, we've lost count.
Winemaker notes: With great concentration and beautiful balance, the Schrader RBS shows wonderful energy and freshness on the palate. Inviting aromas of crushed blackberry and plum compote are complemented by a touch of spring flowers. Flavors of graphite and blue and black fruits dance along the palate with the integration of wood, tannin, and acidity being seamless. Ever approachable in its youth the Schrader RBS is a perennial favorite.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon in Darnajou French oak barrels
There is not much to be said about Schrader that hasn't already made headlines. Fred Schrader, an art and antiquity trader, attended the Napa Valley wine auction in the late 90's. He fell in love with Napa and then met Andy Beckstoffer and Thomas Rivers Brown. From that time, they sourced outstanding fruit from the To Kalon vineyard and set the wine world ablaze with some of the most sought after, collectable and delicious Napa Valley Cabernets ever created.
Reviews
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon RBS gives beautiful scents of lilacs and dried lavender over wild blueberries, chocolate-covered cherries, blackberry pie and eucalyptus with a touch of pencil shavings. Full-bodied and built like a brick house, it has a solid frame of grainy tannins and plenty of freshness to lift the densely packed, muscular fruit, finishing very long. ~97+ WA
