94 Point Vintage: 2019 St Cosme Rhone Les Deux Albions Cotes du Rhone Rouge

“Southern charm in the Rhone” is the name that the magazine Wine Spectator used to refer to the Gigondas appellation in the same article where they also stated that this region “has started to peek out from the shadows of its prestigious neighbor Châteauneuf-du-Pape as the appellation and its producers push quality forward, with wines that are certainly worthy of your attention.”

Today’s offer, the incredible 92pt 2019 St Cosme Rhone Les Deux Albions Cotes du Rhone Rouge is certainly worthy of your attention.

This stunning blend of 50% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, 20% Grenache, 15% Carignan, and 5% Clairette is a wine that perfectly combines the deepness, structure, and elegance with aromas and flavors of roasted game, mesquite, olive, crushed plum, and black currants.

This wine is an absolute pleasure to drink and share, and wine critics all over the world agree with me. Wine Enthusiast called it an “elevated Côtes-du-Rhône” and confirmed it “at peak now.” And Wine Spectator said, “this has gutsy energy through the finish.”

This beautiful Cotes du Rhone comes from Château de Saint Cosme, the leading winery of this appellation, where the Barruol family has been producing fine wines for over 500 years. This makes it the oldest Château in the region. The vineyard of 37 acres is planted just next to the Dentelles de Montmirail mountain and was converted into a biodynamic in 2010. The result is “pure, balanced and beautiful” wines that are a wonderful reflection of their terroir.

Here's the deal: A 92pt Organic “Baby CDP” blend that is “at peak now” born in a 94pt gorgeous vintage, coming from the oldest Château in the region. All this for under $24/bottle + free shipping on 6 or more bottles. An absolute bargain!
