Château Pegau is the second estate from Domaine du Pégau, an estate that's continuously praised by Southern Rhone aficionados and major wine critics. Domaine de Pégau is one of the great estates in this region and a benchmark producer of traditionally styled Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Pégau is justifiably ranked among the greatest wines in the world.
Now, what happens when one of the most renowned families in all of Rhone (and France) decides to venture outside of their brand-defining style? They've created a stunning wine that Jeb Dunnuck called a “wine that offers elegance and finesse without sacrificing character” in his 92-point review.
This exciting blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 20% Mourvèdre shows plenty of licorice, tar, and red cherry. The palate is generous with pronounced tannins and a supple finish. Jeb Dunnuck tells us this wine has “classic 2019 richness paired with elegance and finesse.”
