Rich and Elegant: 2019 Chateau Pegau 'Cuvee Setier' Cotes du Rhone Villages

Have you read Decanter's praise for the Rhone valley? They told us, “Rhône might be one of the classic wine regions of France, but it remains just as fruitful for the bargain hunter as for the serious collector.”

That’s right my friends, today we’re traveling to the magical region of southern France, the Rhone Valley. Today, we’re bringing what Decanter called “a wine with a reputation for delivering good value for money.” Let me introduce to you the 92-point 2019 Chateau Pegau 'Cuvee Setier' Cotes du Rhone Villages.

Château Pegau is the second estate from Domaine du Pégau, an estate that's continuously praised by Southern Rhone aficionados and major wine critics. Domaine de Pégau is one of the great estates in this region and a benchmark producer of traditionally styled Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Pégau is justifiably ranked among the greatest wines in the world.

Now, what happens when one of the most renowned families in all of Rhone (and France) decides to venture outside of their brand-defining style? They've created a stunning wine that Jeb Dunnuck called a “wine that offers elegance and finesse without sacrificing character” in his 92-point review.

This exciting blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 20% Mourvèdre shows plenty of licorice, tar, and red cherry. The palate is generous with pronounced tannins and a supple finish. Jeb Dunnuck tells us this wine has “classic 2019 richness paired with elegance and finesse.”

This wine is not only rich, fine, and elegant; it’s also one of the best value wines you'll find in the Southern Rhone.

Here is a 92-point Rhone red blend that's produced by one of the best estates in the Southern Rhone born from the outstanding 94-point 2019 vintage, and only $19.99 a bottle (that's the lowest price anywhere.) Can’t think of a better deal!
